Designed to deal with mines that have contactless fuses with acoustic channels, which respond both to constant acoustic pressure and to a change in its value over time, and when used together with an electromagnetic trawl, to mine mines with combined fuses.
The trawl is installed on raid, base and sea minesweepers.
AT-2 can be used according to the schemes: individually; together with the electromagnetic trawl TEM-3 in the electrode version; in conjunction with the TEM-3 electromagnetic trawl in a loop version. If necessary, the AT-2 can be used on the “foot”.
The AT-2 and the electromagnetic trawl are controlled by the PAUT-U control equipment (the AT-2 is not included in the package and is delivered by a separate order).

Structure
The AT-2 consists of: an emitter, a towing-cable part (LCC), a leading buoy, two supporting buoys, a recess, a diver, 16 buoyancy, a designating device, bows and slings.

Performance Specifications
The towing speed during the setting and selection of 3 knots, during trawling - up to 12 knots, cable tug tension - from 1 to 3.8 t.s., emitter recess - up to 4.5 m, trawl weight - not more than 2300 kg, cable length - tugboat - about 550 m.
Sea state - no more than 4 points, according to the system adopted in Russia.
