Description

ATS-20 Thermal Weapon Sight System has been developed for BTR-80 Armored Combat Vehicles.

  • thermal sight with double angle of view that provides utmost vision during day/night, unfavorable weather conditions and combat conditions;
  • operates completely as passive with the use of non-cooled detector, senses in far infrared band, gives pointing and shooting opportunity to 14.5mm KPVT and 7.62mm PKT machine guns on BTR-80 Armoured Combat Vehicles;
  • increases reconnaissance and observation capabilities and fire support ability under any kind of weather and combat conditions;
  • has a structure that can be integrated on any type of armored vehicle due to its light weight, small dimensions and ballistic armored durable structure;
  • designed and manufactured in compliance with military standards allows the marksman to make range estimation with stadia metric scale;
  • in addition to optical zoom, 2x and 4x electronic zoom features provides better view of the image. Image is transferred to high-definition LCD monitoring unit with CCIR video output and it's brought into use of the marksman.

Main parts of ATS-20 Thermal Weapon Sight System:

  • Thermal Camera Unit
  • Operator Control Unit
  • Image Unit
  • Video Transmitter Unit
  • Video Receiver Unit
  • Power Regulator Unit
  • Ballistic Armor of Thermal Camera Unit
  • Connecting parts and cables.
  • Thermal Camera Unit on the system is a non-cooled thermal imaging unit that has two angles of view sensing in Long Wavelength Infrared (Far Infrared) band referred as 8-12µm band.
  • Operator Control Unit performs the user functions. It multiplexes the video signal coming from the camera and sends to the monitors of marksman and commander. This unit allows accessing the system functions directly or by means of menus with the help of switches and buttons within its body.
  • Image Unit submits the thermal image to the monitors, one for the marksman and one for the commander. There exists the grid of the weapon (cross) on the image.
  • Video Transmitter Unit receives the thermal image video signal over Operator Control Unit and transfers it to the commander's Image Unit over Video Receiver Unit wirelessly.
  • Power Regulator Unit regulates 24V supply voltage received over the vehicle to 12V system supply voltage. It's the device that filters the voltage in order to be able to use the units in the system and protects these units against the changes occurring in the power.
  • Ballistic Armor protects Thermal Camera Unit located out of the vehicle against shrapnel and 7.62mm bullets.
  • Cable Kit contains the cable sets used for the interconnection of the devices in the system.
