As a result of the implementation Of plans to improve corporate governance, developed in accordance with the recommendations of the 2009 diagnostics, these companies carried out significant work to improve the level of corporate governance and received high ratings in 2010 and actually became the leaders of the rating.

In 2011, the Fund continued its efforts to improve the level of corporate governance. Currently, Diagnostics is carried out in seven subsidiaries of the Fund: JSC"KazMunayGas", JSC"Kazakhtelecom", JSC"Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", JSC"Samruk-Energo", JSC"Kazpost", JSC"real estate Fund"Samruk-Kazyna"and JSC"Tau-Ken Samruk".
In 2009, together with the international consulting company KPMG, diagnostics was Carried out in seven companies of the Fund: JSC KEGOC, JSC NC KazMunayGas, JSC Development Bank of Kazakhstan, JSC Kazakhtelecom, JSC NC Kazakstan Temir Zholy, JSC NAC Kazatomprom, JSC Kazpost. In 2012, an independent consulting firm KPMG Tax and Advisory LLP, on behalf of the national welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC, conducted diagnostics of corporate governance of Kazakhstan engineering NC JSC.
The diagnostics was carried out in accordance with the methodology for diagnosing corporate governance in the companies of the national welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna group, according to the results of which, in accordance with the Report on compliance of the corporate governance level with the best world practice, the rating of compliance of the corporate governance level with the requirements of the best world practice was 44%.
A positive assessment of the level of corporate governance was made possible due to significant work on ensuring the delegation of authority to subsidiaries and improving the efficiency of interaction, standardization and optimization of the management reporting system, increasing the status of corporate secretaries, and strengthening the roles of internal audit services in subsidiaries.
In order to implement the recommendations to eliminate the identified inconsistencies based on the results of the company's corporate governance diagnostics, as well as to further improve the company's corporate governance system, the Company's Board of Directors approved an action Plan for improving corporate governance for 2013.
In 2013, an independent consulting firm LLP PricewaterhouseCoopers at the direction of the Board of JSC"Samruk-Kazyna"(hereinafter - the Fund) held diagnostics of corporate governance of JSC"NC"Kazakhstan engineering"(hereafter Company).
The rating of compliance of the company's corporate governance level with the requirements of the best world practice was 62.2%, while the planned indicator was 55%.
Compared to the previous year, the company's corporate governance level increased by 18%, which showed the highest growth dynamics among the Fund group Companies.
The company is confidently moving towards improvement and achieving the strategic goal of achieving 75% by 2015.
Among the key points, the independent consultants noted such aspects as obvious progress in improving the corporate governance and development environment, more effective work of the Board of Directors and the Management Board, effective interaction with the Sole shareholder and Trustee, and strengthening the role of independent Directors in making key decisions. At the same time, the consultants highlight a significant increase in the level of disclosure of financial and non-financial information through the company's corporate website, strengthening the internal audit and corporate Secretary Services, improving the risk management and internal control system, a more active dialogue between the Fund and members of the Company's Board of Directors, etc.
The increase in the corporate governance rating to 62.2% once again indicates a high level of strategic and corporate development, risk management and internal control in the Company.
