TSAMTO, July 27. According to the information of the State Committee for Defense Industry of Uzbekistan dated July 21, the company Kran Va Maxsus Texnikala LLC (Tashkent) began the production of light armored vehicles with a 4x4 wheel arrangement called "Tarlon".

Judging by the published performance characteristics and the presented photo, the Tarlon is nothing more than a local variation of the Ejder Yalcin armored vehicle of the Turkish company Nurol Makina.

As TSAMTO has already reported, in October 2017, the Turkish private defense company Nurol Makina signed a memorandum of understanding with the Uzbek UzAuto (JSC Uzavtosanoat) on the joint production of 1,000 Eider Yalchin armored vehicles at an enterprise in Uzbekistan. The signing ceremony took place during the first visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkey in 21 years. The memorandum provided for the possibility of selling equipment to third countries (in the future), as well as the supply of the first 24 ready-made armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan. The transfer of production technologies was planned to be carried out in stages.

On August 6, 2019, the General Director of Nurol Makina, Engin Aikol, confirmed the information on the delivery to the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan of a batch of 24 Eider Yalchin armored vehicles with 4x4 wheel arrangement. The armored vehicle previously developed by Nurol Makina has undergone extensive testing in several modifications. Uzbekistan chose the option with an open turret armed with a 7.62-mm machine gun (note TSAMTO: the same version was shown in a press release from the State Committee for Defense Industry on July 21, 2020).

According to E. Aykol, armored vehicles will be used to protect the country's borders with Afghanistan to prevent the penetration of militants into the territory of Uzbekistan.

For reference: the Eider Yalcin armored vehicle was widely used by the Turkish Armed Forces in operations in the east of the country and in some regions of Syria.
