Kazakhstan enterprise will produce UAVs from 2020

A group of specialists of the Kazakhstan Aviation Industry (KAI - a subsidiary of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Engineering") is sent to Israel for training and direct participation in the production of UAV systems. Upon completion of training and production preparation, from 2020 it is planned to establish UAV assembly in Kazakhstan with a planned production capacity of four systems per year.

Recall that a long-term contract was signed with the Israeli company Elbit Systems and a general license was received to represent the company’s trademark in Kazakhstan.

In addition, overhaul of four Su-25 aircraft is carried out directly in the KAI Aviation Technical Center in cooperation with a Belarusian company.

The gained experience and skills allow a Kazakhstani company to apply for a new order for the overhaul of Su-25 aircraft with modernization. At the same time, the proportion of Kazakhstani content of works will be increased to 36% compared with 2019 (16%).

Also, routine work of the An-72 military transport aircraft of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan was completed at the KAI Aviation Technical Center. The aircraft were handed over to the customer, and they are already performing scheduled flights. The successful outcome of the work can be considered the availability of orders from the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the maintenance of aircraft of the Antonov family.

At the same time, the maintenance of two C295M military transport aircraft at Airbus factories with the participation of KAI is being completed. And already in 2020, KAI will begin to carry out regulated technical maintenance of these aircraft in Kazakhstan. For this purpose, relevant agreements have been concluded with Airbus, and a roadmap has been adopted that determines the procedure for equipping KAI production and the creation of a service center for C295M aircraft on its basis.
