At the initiative of the Semey Engineering plant, which is a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Engineering, JSC, the first ever 3D Olympics Olympiad was held in the region. It was attended by all comers, including students of higher and secondary special educational institutions with 3D modeling skills.

The competition was held in 2 stages: at the first stage, the participants passed online test tasks, and at the final stage they solved practical problems in building a 3D model with drawing design.

The winners of the Olympics are:

• 1st place Andrey Karpov, cash prize in the amount of 300,000 tenge, a certificate of employment for the position of design engineer from Semey Engineering JSC;
• 2nd place Rinat Mambetov , cash prize of 200,000 tenge, certificate for paid internship from the plant;
• 3rd place Maksat Taizhumin , cash prize of 100,000 tenge, certificate for paid internship from the plant.

In addition, the winners were awarded valuable gifts from sponsors. As the organizers noted, based on the results of the competition, a base will be created and a rating will be drawn up in order to select the most talented participants to form a reserve fund of the plant.

“We need competent specialists, talented youth, keen on studying digital production, new materials and additive technologies,” said Talgat Turlybaev, general director of Semey Engineering JSC.

This event was organized as part of the Youth Year with the support of the State University. Shakarima and ASCON-Kazakhstan LLP.
