This agreement was reached following the participation of the Kazakh delegation in the 14th International Defense Industry Exhibition International Defense Industry Fair 2019, which was held in Istanbul (Turkey).
Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP, which is part of the enterprises of the Ministry of Digital Development, Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan (a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Engineering LLP), signed an agreement on the export of optoelectronic devices to the Republic of Turkey. In addition, the company signed a memorandum with a Turkish enterprise on the modernization of avionics for helicopters in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the participation of the Kazakh delegation in this exhibition, more than 20 meetings with foreign partners were held. In particular, the issues of cooperation, the creation of joint projects in the framework of attracting investments and new technologies became key in negotiations with the Turkish companies MKEK and Aselsan, as well as the implementation of a new joint project with TAI.
As a result of the meetings, agreements were reached that in the near future representatives of five Turkish companies will visit Nur-Sultan to determine the technical details of the implementation of joint projects in the defense industry.
Note that for the first time this year, at the International Defense Industry Fair 2019, Kazakhstan was represented by a joint delegation from among representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development, Defense and Aerospace Industry jointly, the Ministry of Defense and enterprises of the domestic military-industrial complex. The delegation was headed by Talgat Zhanzhumenov, First Vice-Minister of ICROAP RK. The potential of the Kazakhstani defense industry complex was presented by a single national exposition, which aroused high interest from foreign exhibitors and partners.
A single national exposition of domestic enterprises of the defense industry will also be presented at the MILEX-2019 (Republic of Belarus, Minsk) and ARMY-2019 (Russian Federation, Kubinka) exhibitions.
