150 ADDITIONAL WORKPLACES TO BE CREATED AFTER MODERNIZATION OF TWO DEFENSE FACTORIES IN SKO

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Zhumagaliev, as part of a working trip to the city of Petropavlovsk, visited the leading enterprises of the domestic defense industrial complex (OPK) - the plant named after CM. Kirova (ZiK), Petropavlovsk Heavy Engineering Plant (PZTM) and ZIKSTO JSC.

During the visit, Askar Zhumagaliev got acquainted with the production activities of enterprises and the product line. Also, the heads of ZiK and PZTM JSC informed the Minister about the progress of technological modernization, as a result of which they will master the production of new competitive products focused on domestic and foreign markets.

In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that 6.6 billion tenge will be invested in the technological modernization of these plants in the next 2 years.

“The state allocates large funds for the modernization of factories in order to breathe new life into them. Thanks to this, 150 new jobs will be created additionally, which is very important for the socio-economic development of the region. In turn, we will expect high-quality, competitive products from you,” said Zhumagaliev

He also instructed enterprises to start thinking over export directions now for selling products and obtaining guaranteed long-term orders.

During the working trip, the Deputy Prime Minister also visited ZIKSTO JSC, where he examined the production shops of the plant and the products of the enterprise.

Following the results of the visit to the factories, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan gave a number of instructions on the development of defense industry enterprises.

At the end of the working trip, Askar Zhumagaliev took part in the final reporting meeting of the akim of the North Kazakhstan region.

JSC “Plant named after CM. Kirova” was built in 1928. The plant produces automation equipment for the oil and gas industry and railway transport, the serial production of integrated, locomotive safety devices and radio stations has been mastered.

ZIKSTO JSC was established in 1993. The plant produces wagons (gondola cars, grain carriers, platforms), carries out major repairs with extension of the service life of gondola cars, wagons, manufacture and repair of a wheelset with a change of elements, special products.

PZTM JSC was established in 1993. The plant produces machinery and equipment for special purposes.
