Today, a board meeting was held at the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MOAP RK), at which the results of activities for 2018 were considered, and the main tasks for the current year were identified.
Aide to the President - Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kalmukhanbet Kasymov, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other government agencies, subordinate organizations and enterprises took part in the work of the collegium.
At a meeting of the collegium, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Zhumagaliev identified the main priorities of the department's work, noting that the Ministry intends to increase the share of Kaz. content in the military-industrial complex (MIC), increase the volume of goods for export, as well as take additional measures to support domestic manufacturers of defense-industrial complex products, digitalization of production.
“Our main task today is to increase the share of Kazakhstani content in the volume of defense industry products. After visiting factories that produce products for the military-industrial complex, I can say for sure that enterprises have potential that needs to be used. We, in turn, will expand measures to support domestic defense industry enterprises. In international practice, investment contracts, tax and other benefits are applied. We will also work on these issues, as it is important for the development of the industry, ”the Minister noted.
At the same time, Askar Zhumagaliyev instructed subordinate companies to attract business for the development of the defense industry, the aerospace industry and the information security sector, and also not to initiate projects that could create competition for private business.
“The Head of State always speaks about this, we must not interfere with private business. Moreover, business can perform some tasks more efficiently than the state. Therefore, for example, from this year we are transferring the creation of geoportals to the competitive environment, ”Zhumagaliyev said.
The vice-ministers of the MOAP in their areas, as well as the heads of subordinate national companies, also spoke at the board with reports on the results of work in 2018 and plans for this year.
In particular, Vice Minister of Defense Industry Amaniyaz Yerzhanov spoke about the results of the Ministry's activities in the field of defense industry development in 2018 and informed that at the end of last year, the volume of production in the defense industry increased by 4% compared to 2017 and amounted to 90.6 billion . tenge, the volume of export of products - 7.3 billion tenge.
Within the framework of the import substitution program, 8 projects were successfully implemented last year, including within the framework of joint cooperation with foreign partners with Turkey, South Africa, Israel, Russia and France.
The modernization of production facilities began at JSC "Petropavlovsk Heavy Machine Building Plant" and JSC "Plant named after S.M. Kirov ". In the coming years, it is planned to carry out technological modernization at another 7 enterprises.
In addition, work will continue on the creation of domestic service centers for aircraft repair, modernization of armored vehicles, missile and artillery weapons, air defense and special communications equipment.
It should be noted that today the defense industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan has 40 enterprises, which employ 8.5 thousand people.
