ASTANA PASSED THE DIGITAL ARMY DAY

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the site of the international technology park IT - startups "Astana Hub" organized a day of "Digital Army", the opening of which was held with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Defense and Aerospace Industry Askar Zhumagaliev and Minister of Defense Nurlan Yermekbaev.

Opening this event, A. Zhumagaliev emphasized the importance of using digital technologies to solve various tasks in the field of defense and national security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“Ensuring the country's defense capability and army combat readiness in modern conditions largely depends on the use of new technologies. And the defense industry today is open to cooperation with the domestic IT community in this direction. We would like as many Kazakhstani companies as possible to be involved in this work. Firstly, it will allow us to increase the kaz. content. The importance of this is always indicated by the Head of State. Secondly, the use of domestic solutions is directly related to ensuring the security of the republic,” A. Zhumagaliev noted

The introduction of digital technologies in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carried out in a planned manner in accordance with the instructions of the President - the Supreme Commander-in-Chief in accordance with the national program “Digital Kazakhstan”.

This event is held in order to organize the interaction of national manufacturers and developers of IT technologies with the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of equipping with modern technical means and software.

During the course of the Digital Army’s day, a presentation of about 40 national IT companies was held to create a domestic operating system and a database system, unmanned systems and simulators, “smart” self-learning software and hardware systems that are capable of autonomously collecting and analyzing large amounts of data from various sources and modeling situations based on the information received, as well as the subsequent implementation of decisions.

As a result of the event, a five-sided memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry, the Zerde National Info-communication Holding company, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs and the Kazakhstan Association of IT Companies.
