The air fleet of the National Guard was replenished with two Kazakh-made Mi-171E helicopters

On May 26, a solemn ceremony of handing over two Mi-171E helicopters for the needs of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Nur-Sultan.

The project for the organization of assembly production was launched in 2019 by NC Kazakhstan Engineering JSC on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The assembly and adaptation of helicopters to customer requirements are carried out at Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405 in Almaty, which has the greatest competence in repairing and maintaining the life cycle of helicopters of this type in the Central Asian region. The plant is certified by Kazakhstani and international bodies for the repair, modernization and maintenance of Mi-8/17/171 helicopters.

The relocation of Mi-171E helicopters to the capital was carried out from Almaty by the forces of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Thanks to the installation of external additional fuel tanks, both helicopters were delivered to Nur-Sultan without refueling. At a solemn event in the capital, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Engineering” Abdrakhmanov Temirzhan Kairatovich handed over the symbolic keys to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akhmetzhanov Marat Muratovich.

“I performed the task of ferrying Mi-171E aircraft to our military unit from Almaty. This helicopter is the most modern version: it is excellent for operation by young flight crews, as well as for performing assigned tasks. The helicopters are equipped with modern avionics, instrumentation, powerful engines. I have been flying these helicopters for about 20 years and I can say that helicopters of this class are very reliable, and their technical characteristics surpass many analogues , ”said Lieutenant Colonel Alibek Meyrambekovich Orshabekov, deputy commander of military unit 3656 for flight safety, who piloted one of the newly acquired aircraft of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan from Almaty to Nur-Sultan.
