Kazakhstan ranked 101st in the Corruption Perceptions Index

Transparency International is a non-governmental international organization dedicated to fighting corruption and examining levels of corruption around the world. Former World Bank East Africa Director Peter Eigen founded Transparency International in 1993 in Berlin.

The Corruption Perception Index is an annual composite index that has been measuring the perception of corruption in the public sector around the world since 1995. The surveys are carried out by independent expert organizations. Based on the results of these surveys, countries around the world are ranked on a scale from zero to hundred. A zero indicates the highest level of perception of corruption, while a hundred is the lowest.

In 2022, Kazakhstan scored 36 out of a possible 100 points - 1 point lower than a year earlier; the score was below the global average (43 points).

Overall, the level of corruption has remained unchanged around the world for 11 consecutive years. At the same time, most of the ranking participants have not shown any dynamics since 2017.
