Kazakhstan and India strengthen cooperation in the defense industry

The Kazakhstani delegation of defense enterprises headed by the Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Zhanzhumenov takes part in the 11th International Exhibition of Land and Naval Armaments Defense Expo-2020, which is taking place in the city of Lucknow, India.

Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held with the State Minister of Defense of India, the Chief of the General Staff of the Indian Armed Forces and about 10 large defense enterprises. The parties discussed further deepening cooperation in the naval sphere. In particular, an increase in the export of services of the Kazakh company JSC Machine-Building Plant named after CM. Kirov, who is already carrying out repairs and maintenance of naval weapons of the Indian Armed Forces. They also discussed the possibility of repairing and servicing armored vehicles and missile and artillery weapons, as well as the joint production of protective equipment. Much attention in the negotiations was paid to attracting Indian investments in the defense industry of Kazakhstan.

In addition, the State Minister of Defense of India received an invitation letter from the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov about visiting the International Exhibition of Arms and Military-Technical Property CADEX-2020, which will be held in Nur-Sultan on May 28-31, 2020.
