September 13, 2017 at 03:17 According to Astana time, the Soyuz MS-06 manned transport spacecraft (TPV) is scheduled to be launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome using the Soyuz-FG launch vehicle.

The launch will be carried out from the Gagarin Launch (site No. 1) of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The spacecraft must deliver a new crew (ISS-53/54) to the International Space Station (ISS) for the next long-term expedition.

The main crew includes Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin (TPK commander), NASA astronauts Mark Vande Hei (flight engineer) and Joseph Acaba (flight engineer).

The launch of the Soyuz MS-06 TPK is planned in accordance with the ISS Flight Program. The planned flight duration is 167 days.

The expedition's tasks include working with Russian and American cargo ships, performing extravehicular activities (spacewalks), maintaining the station's functionality, conducting on-board photo and video shooting, as well as carrying out a program of scientific and applied research (56 scientific experiments in total).
