A lecture on cybersecurity was held at JSC NC Kazakhstan Engineering

On December 2, 2024, JSC NC Kazakhstan Engineering held a lecture on cybersecurity for the Company's employees. The event was organized with the support of the Information Security Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the lecture, experts spoke in detail about the measures to ensure information security in Kazakhstan, as well as about the methods of its regulation and state control in this area. Particular attention was paid to real examples of repelling cyberattacks. Turin Medet, an expert in cybersecurity and CEO of Spectre Security Group, shared his research and experience, talking about how criminals make money on cybercrimes that attack both large organizations and ordinary citizens, and how this can be combated.

One of the examples given by the expert concerned a widespread phishing attack. Attackers send emails disguised as official notifications for companies in order to steal personal data of employees, such as passwords, documents and bank card numbers. The expert emphasized that in order to prevent such attacks, it is extremely important to train employees to recognize suspicious emails, as well as use multi-factor authentication and regularly update passwords. Thus, any company in Kazakhstan, faced with a mass phishing attack, will be able to successfully prevent data leakage by implementing an email filtering system and training its employees in the basics of cyber hygiene.

In addition, the lecture participants discussed current issues of protection in the information space, various types of fraud and effective methods of protection against them. Ways to combat hacker attacks, which are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated, were also considered.

Cybersecurity today is a critical element of stability and security not only for organizations, but for the entire country. In the context of growing digitalization, threats in cyberspace are constantly evolving, and information security is becoming a key factor in ensuring the normal operation of both business and government infrastructure.
