Blue-collar jobs are the basis for the stable functioning of industrial enterprises, construction companies and urban infrastructure. Despite the fact that modern applicants often prefer humanitarian and IT specialties, skilled workers remain in demand on the labor market.
Manufacturing processes require professionalism, responsibility and technical training. Blue-collar jobs are changing along with technological developments, but the demand for professionals who perform their work well remains high. Although men traditionally dominate this field, women are also successfully implementing themselves in manufacturing. One such example is Alexandra Vladimirovna Davletgireeva, an employee of an enterprise that is part of JSC NC Kazakhstan Engineering.
Alexandra Vladimirovna, tell us when you came to the plant and why you chose this particular specialty?
My professional career at the plant began in 2014, when I was offered the position of a galvanic operator on automatic and semi-automatic lines. At 21, I accepted this offer with enthusiasm, seeing the opportunity to master a sought-after and technically complex profession.
A galvanic operator on automatic and semi-automatic lines is a specialist who applies protective, decorative and functional coatings to metal parts using galvanic processes. The work requires high precision, attention and knowledge of the chemical and physical properties of metals.
As an example, it is impossible to imagine the production of parts for aviation, mechanical engineering, medical equipment and even jewelry without the work of galvanizers. They provide protection of metals from corrosion, give parts strength and improved performance characteristics.
This is a profession for those who love precision, technology and want to see real results of their work.
From the first days of work, I was fascinated by the work process itself. This was the beginning of my path in the production sphere, where new challenges and prospects for professional growth open up every day.
What stages of your professional path were the most difficult and interesting?
Starting work at the plant was a real test. In a new environment, I had to independently understand the intricacies of the profession, master technological processes, study drawings, and understand the equipment. Every day required patience, persistence, and a desire for knowledge. This path hardened me, taught me to make decisions and develop professionally. Today, I understand that these difficulties became the basis for my growth.
What skills and qualities are needed to be successful in your field?
I would say that a high level of responsibility, attentiveness and aspiration for impeccable quality are the key qualities required in our profession. The work requires utmost concentration, because the slightest mistake can affect the quality of the final product. It is also important to strive for continuous learning and improvement of your skills. This is the only way to meet the high requirements of modern production.
How has your profession changed in recent years given the introduction of new technologies?
The development of technology has significantly affected production processes. If previously most operations were performed manually, today the introduction of semi-automatic and automatic systems has significantly increased the accuracy and efficiency of work. Automation makes production not only more productive, but also allows employees to master new competencies, developing professional skills in accordance with modern standards.
Personally, I am inspired by the opportunity to improve my professional skills and work with new technologies. Each project is a new challenge that requires attention to detail, responsibility and creativity. It is especially valuable to see the results of your work - high-quality products that are in demand and bring real benefits. This motivates me to move forward and strive for new achievements.
About the plant and the team
Are there any projects that have become particularly important to you?
During my time at the plant, there were many projects that required high responsibility and complex solutions. Some of them required well-coordinated interaction with colleagues from different departments. Each such project is an opportunity to demonstrate professionalism, offer non-standard solutions and contribute to the development of the enterprise, which is important for each employee of the plant.
What role do blue-collar jobs play in the economy and security of the country, in your opinion?
Blue collar jobs are the foundation of economic stability. They ensure production, infrastructure maintenance, and development of key industries. Without skilled workers, it is simply impossible to imagine either economic growth or, even more so, national security.
What atmosphere would you describe at the enterprise? Are there any special traditions or corporate spirit?
The atmosphere at the enterprise has always been friendly and united. Our team is also distinguished by professionalism. Corporate spirit is maintained through teamwork, mutual assistance and the pursuit of high standards. The enterprise regularly holds events that help strengthen the team, which creates a comfortable working atmosphere.
I think that the team also plays a significant role in ensuring that the enterprise always stays afloat and shows good results, since it is the people who create its infrastructure.
What professions may be promising for the plant in the future?
The most promising specialties are those related to automation, robotics and IT technologies. Design engineers, 3D printing and digital technology specialists will play a key role in increasing the efficiency and modernization of production. Technological development is directly related to the demand for blue-collar jobs, which opens up new prospects for professionals in this field.
The world is not standing still and is constantly evolving. Accordingly, the development of blue-collar jobs and their demand should be closely linked to the global agenda.
About the future and development
What are the prospects for young professionals in your field? Is it easy to adapt to work in production?
Young professionals have ample opportunities for professional growth. Production needs energetic, goal-oriented people who are ready to master modern technologies. True, adaptation can be difficult, but thanks to mentoring and support from the team, the process of entering the profession is faster.
Is it worth attracting young people to work at the enterprise?
Of course. As I have already indicated, attracting young people is an important step for the development of production. Young specialists bring new ideas, have modern knowledge and are ready to implement innovations, which contributes to the modernization and increase of competitiveness of the enterprise.
Also, in my opinion, investing in youth is an investment in the future. Supporting young specialists, their training and development help to form a loyal and qualified personnel reserve. Of course, experienced employees are the basis for production stability, but without an influx of young specialists, the enterprise risks facing a personnel shortage.
Also, young professionals are open to new technologies, quickly adapt to changes and can offer fresh ideas. In the era of digitalization and automation of production, this is especially important.
What advice would you give to young people choosing blue-collar jobs?
When choosing a profession, it is important to focus on personal interests and career growth opportunities. Hard work, a desire for knowledge and a willingness to master new technologies are key factors for a successful professional path. Blue-collar jobs are stability, demand and an opportunity to realize yourself in the high-tech sphere.
Personal opinion
If you had the opportunity to choose a profession again, would you make the same choice?
Yes, I would choose this profession again. It allows me to develop, solve interesting problems and make a real contribution to the development of production.
What achievements at the plant are you particularly proud of?
I am proud that I was able to go from a beginner to a professional, to contribute to the improvement of production processes and the quality of manufactured products. The opportunity to see the results of your work is the best motivation for further development.
Thank you for the interview!
