Nauryz is one of the most ancient and meaningful celebrations in Kazakhstan’s history, filled with deep philosophical and moral significance. It reflects the harmony between humans and nature, symbolizing the awakening of the earth, the beginning of the new year according to the Eastern calendar, and renewal in all aspects of life. Rich in rituals, beliefs, and folk traditions, this holiday has always held a special place in our nation’s culture.
However, during the totalitarian era, when all mentions of traditional heritage were considered relics of the past, the holiday was abolished. After many years of oblivion, Nauryz was celebrated once again in Kazakhstan in 1988, gaining widespread public recognition. It received official status on March 15, 1991, with the issuance of the decree by the President of the Kazakh SSR, "On the National Spring Holiday – Nauryz Meiramy." Since 2001, March 22 has been officially recognized as the Day of the Spring Equinox, celebrated annually across the country.
With deep historical roots, Nauryz has seamlessly integrated into modern life, remaining a symbol of stability, unity, and friendship. It brings together people of different generations and cultures, strengthening the spirit of creativity and preserving national identity.
Employees of the Kazakhstan Engineering Group of Companies embraced this holiday with great enthusiasm—decorating their workplaces, participating in traditional games and activities, wearing national costumes, and, of course, sharing warm wishes with one another. Festive celebrations, special dastarkhans, competitions, and performances created an atmosphere of warmth and joy, reminding us of the importance of traditions and their role in strengthening society.
May Nauryz bring prosperity, well-being, and new opportunities to every home! We wish you good health, success in your work, and happiness for your families!
