The year 2025 has been declared the Year of Vocational Professions in Kazakhstan — a recognition of the vital role that labor, engineering, and technical disciplines play in the sustainable development of the country. The initiative aims to elevate the prestige of vocational and engineering careers, strengthen human capital, and support young people choosing a technical path.
In this context, the Kazakhstan Engineering R&D Center LLP demonstrates a systematic and practice-oriented approach. By organizing and participating in major events in the field of unmanned technologies, the Center fosters interest among young people in engineering creativity, applied science, and high-tech manufacturing.
The first major event of the year was the Center’s participation in the international exhibition Digital Almaty, where its specialists organized and provided technical support for FPV drone competitions. In addition to thrilling races, the program featured master classes, demonstration flights, and discussions on the future of unmanned aviation. It served as a vivid example of how engineering excellence can be both exciting and accessible to a broad audience.
Engineer-instructor Azamat Karasartov, a specialist from the Center, played an active role in organizing the event, making a significant contribution to its coordination and ensuring a high level of performance and operational coherence.
Another highlight was the SECUREX Kazakhstan exhibition, where participants and visitors were introduced to an innovative format — drone football, a team-based competition held in a dedicated arena. This format opened up new opportunities for the use of UAVs in interactive environments, clearly demonstrating how engineering can be combined with gamification and teamwork elements.
A significant contribution was also the organization of AITU KazDrone 2.0 — regional drone control competitions held via simulators across 13 cities of Kazakhstan. Participants received expert support and access to professional equipment, with the final event turning into a true celebration of youth technical creativity.
Following the competitions, participants gave positive feedback, praising the high level of organization and expressing gratitude to the organizers and sponsors for the opportunity to take part.
The Center also participated in the international military-patriotic event Aibyn, where its staff held FPV drone racing competitions, training flights using simulators, and live demonstrations. Cadets had a unique chance to test their drone piloting skills in both virtual and real-world environments.
These activities are more than just participation in exhibitions or competitions. They represent a structured effort to shape a new generation of competent and passionate technical specialists. Kazakhstan Engineering R&D Center LLP clearly shows that engineering is not only the profession of the future — it is the profession of today, when backed by real action. It is initiatives like these that give meaningful substance and tangible results to the Year of Vocational Professions.
