The ministry of foreign affairs and the minister of defense and aerospace industry will continue to coordinate the export of defense industry products of kazakhstan

Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Kairat Abdrakhmanov and the Minister of defense and aerospace industry (MDAI), Mr. Beybut Atamkulov, a meeting of senior officials of the two ministries and subordinate organizations of MDEI  was held to discuss the implementation of the Joint action plan to strengthen cooperation to promote the export of Kazakhstan products and attract investment, adopted in 2017.

The plan was developed in response to the instructions of the Head of the state, Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev on the activation of economic diplomacy, in the context of the implementation of the President's Messages and other strategic policy documents of the country. Under the Plan, there is active interaction on a wide range of issues - from information exchange and market analysis to the organization of presentation events and negotiations with potential partners on specific projects. The efficiency of the visit to the defense enterprises in Petropavlovsk (Petropavlovsk heavy engineering plant JSC, Plant named after S.M. Kirov JSC) was noted in September 2017 by military and diplomatic service accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

KADEX-2018, V International Exhibition of Weapons System and Military Equipment held from 23 to 26 May 2018 in Astana meets the set goals of the Republic of Kazakhstan on economic diversification. The exhibition was attended by 48 official delegations from France, Spain, Italy, China, Japan, Israel, UAE, Russia, Turkey and others. More than 335 companies from 28 countries presented their products. The total amount of agreements and contracts on defense, space activities and cybersecurity amounted to more than $ 900 million that is much higher than the same indicator of KADEX 2016 exhibition.

Special attention will be paid to unconditional compliance with the sanctions regimes imposed by the UN Security Council when working on foreign markets. At the same time, it is important to take into account the effects of unilateral sanctions on a number of countries in the international arena.

The Ministries agreed to cooperate closely on cybersecurity, taking into account the leading role of MDAI in this area. At the legislative level, changes have been made to the Unified requirements on information and communication technologies and information security, improving the processes and approaches of training, improving the skills of specialists engaged in cybersecurity, etc. The need to improve the efficiency of the Kazakhstan part of the intergovernmental commissions, which play a significant role in the development of bilateral cooperation and are an effective tool for solving problems of mutual interest for the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MDAI intend to organize such meetings more often.
