At the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a regular meeting of the Public Council was held under the chairmanship of the pilot-cosmonaut of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Respublikasyk Khalyk Kakharmany, vice-president of JSC National Company “Kazakhstan Karysh Sapary” Aydin Aimbetov.

During the event, members of the Public Council discussed draft regulations developed by the ministry. In particular, the draft laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the defense industry and defense order", "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on defense and aerospace activities" were considered. The meeting also discussed the development of the electronic industry in Kazakhstan.

The participants of the event heard the speakers on these issues and gave appropriate recommendations to the draft laws and regulations.

In addition, the members of the Public Council noted the need to establish an effective communication system with representatives of the ministry for closer interaction and discussion of draft regulations. For these purposes, it was proposed to use the official Internet resource of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and social networks.

In total, since the beginning of 2017, three meetings of the Public Council have been held, during which 11 draft regulatory legal acts were considered and relevant comments and proposals were presented.

The Public Council of the Ministry consists of 14 members, it includes representatives of the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, public figures, heads of NGOs and other representatives of civil society.

The purpose of the council's work is to express the views of civil society on socially significant issues, represent the interests of civil society and take into account public opinion in the discussion and decision-making.

The powers of the Public Council include consideration and discussion of draft laws and regulations and discussion of reports on their implementation, consideration of applications from individuals and legal entities, making proposals and recommendations on the implementation of state policy in the areas supervised by the Ministry.
