Domestic enterprise "Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering" has started factory sea trials of the armored wheeled vehicle (BKM) "Barys" with a wheel arrangement of 8x8.

The armored personnel carrier is equipped with a stabilized uninhabited tower with a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon and a coaxial 7.62-mm PKT machine gun, created by the Kazakh plant for the production of defense electronic-optical products KAE in cooperation with the Turkish company Aselsan.

After their completion, the BKM will be presented to the experts of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan for passing military tests in extreme winter natural and climatic conditions. The test program provides for firing from standard weapons, both in the daytime and at night.

The new armored personnel carrier, which includes advanced technological solutions, was the result of the development work carried out by Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering LLP together with the South African company Paramount Group.

The armored car is multifunctional, mobile and meets the high requirements of ballistic and mine protection.

"Barys" 8x8 was first demonstrated during the IV International Exhibition of Arms and Military-Technical Property "KADEX", held in June 2016 in Astana.
