Today, on May 7, 2017, a military parade dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 72nd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held on Independence Square in Astana. The military parade was opened by the President of Kazakhstan - Supreme Commander-in-Chief Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The military parade of 2017 is the largest march of the services and arms of the Kazakh army, surpassed all previous parades of troops in all respects and in its scale fully corresponded to the important anniversary date.

More than 5,000 servicemen, consisting of about 26 parade teams on foot, marched along Independence Square in Astana with a solemn march. The mechanized convoy was demonstrated by about 300 units of modern military equipment and weapons. The power and combat readiness of Kazakhstani aviation in the sky was shown by about 70 units of aviation equipment of the country's Air Defense Forces. At the same time, for the first time, Kazakhstanis were able to personally evaluate new military equipment, new types of weapons, both domestic and foreign, that replenished the combat arsenal of our army in 2016 and 2017.

Traditionally, the passage of foot columns was opened by a combined company of drummers - pupils of the republican schools "Zhas Ulan". For the first time this year in the ranks of drummers - the best representatives of all republican military schools "Zhas Ulan" in the cities of Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent. Pupils of the republican military schools "Zhas Ulan" are the future of the Army of independent Kazakhstan in the 21st century.

The parade crews of the officers of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ground Forces, the Air Defense Forces and the Naval Forces, the Air Assault Forces, the Marine Corps, the peacekeeping forces, special forces, women military personnel, the military police, the territorial defense brigade, etc. continued the procession.

The spectators saw firsthand the most modern weapons and military equipment in the mechanized column. Among them are the multiple launch rocket system "Kaz Grad", "Smerch", "Prima", combat reconnaissance vehicles "Cobra", infantry fighting vehicles BMP-2, flamethrower systems TOS-1 "Solntsepek", anti-tank missile system "Shturm-S ", Armored personnel carriers BTR-80A, BTR-82A, howitzer" MSTA-B ", battery of guns" Hyacinth ", self-propelled mortar" Tulip ", tactical missiles" Tochka-U ", armored wheeled vehicles" Arlan ", highly maneuverable multipurpose army armored vehicles of increased cross-country "Hummer", unmanned aerial vehicles and electronic reconnaissance systems "Onslaught", a column of special armored vehicles "Federal", a special police car "Tiger" and other samples of modern military equipment and weapons.

The aviation part of the parade was shown on a grand scale, today residents and guests of the capital appreciated the skill of our Kazakhstani pilots, who control the most modern aircraft of the Air Defense Forces. Flying over Astana, the pilots demonstrated in the sky the anniversary date "25" and aerobatics named "Baiterek".

The 2017 military parade has become the largest in the history of our country.
