Before the start of the event, the Head of State examined a number of pavilions where a demonstration of weapons and military equipment of domestic and foreign manufacturers took place.

Also, the President of Kazakhstan took part in the opening of the exhibition, during which the servicemen of the only mountain-ranger regiment in the CIS, the 36th airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a stunt group and students of the school of stage combat demonstrated their skills.

During a briefing for representatives of the media, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that over the years of independence, the state has done colossal work to develop its own Armed Forces, great attention is paid to training Kazakh servicemen in educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense.

In addition, the Head of State emphasized the importance of further development of the material supply system of the Kazakh army.

- Basically, we use the military equipment that we already have and is associated with the Soviet military-industrial complex. At the same time, a large complex of military-technical cooperation with other countries is being carried out, in particular, within the framework of the CSTO. There is an agreement with the Russian Federation on joint work on the production of weapons and the transfer of some enterprises to Kazakhstan. There are also agreements with many European countries. We are developing our own defense-industrial complex in Kazakhstan, using the best equipment. On the one hand, it is quite costly. On the other hand, the military industry is one of the country's industrialization sectors that contributes to GDP growth. In general, this exhibition allows us to look at the most modern weapons in the world. I think that this event is of great importance for our military and for Kazakhstan in general, - said the President of Kazakhstan.

The total area of ​​the exhibition is over 90 thousand square meters. It presents about 350 Kazakh and foreign companies, 3.5 thousand participants from more than 40 countries, 50 thousand visitors are expected.

"KADEX-2016" is held in 7 thematic areas: aviation technology, unmanned aerial vehicles and space technologies; weapons and military equipment of the Land Forces and the Naval Forces; air defense systems and means; property of logistic and technical support of troops; IT-technologies, systems and communication facilities; robotics in the military sphere; alternative energy sources that can be used in the military sphere.
