Kazakh UAV has successfully passed the tests

JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Engineering” has successfully tested the upgraded unmanned aerial vehicle Shagala-M.

The tactical and technical characteristics of the device were improved, namely: its speed, altitude and flight range.

“The UAV is applicable for both military and civilian needs: for the oil and gas, energy sectors and search and rescue operations. The UAV can be used to monitor oil pipelines, gas pipelines, power lines, in case of emergency instead of helicopter equipment to monitor the situation,” said Temirzhan Abdrakhmanov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Engineering National Company JSC.

Also, the UAV can be used for reconnaissance purposes, search and rescue operations, repeaters for communications and control.

“The advantage is that the Chagall-M does not need a runway. The cost is cheaper than foreign analogues. I would like to note that certificates have been received for the sale of products - ST-KZ, an industrial certificate and a corresponding patent," says Gani Baiseitov, General Director of R&D Center Kazakhstan Engineering LLP.

In 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan developed the Rules for the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which should regulate not only the procedure for using airspace, but also accounting, categorizing UAVs and issuing permits for them.

In turn, "Kazakhstan Engineering" has developed target complexes based on UAVs, at the formation stage - projects for strike-reconnaissance UAVs, as well as UAV-kamikaze.

In addition, a training program for pilots and mechanics is being launched on the basis of the aviation training center to ensure the safe and efficient operation of drones and civilian copters.
