LARGE-COMPONENT ASSEMBLY OF MI-8AMT / MI-171 HELICOPTERS WILL BE ESTABLISHED IN KAZAKHSTAN

Today, in Astana, a contract was signed for the organization in the Republic of Kazakhstan of a large-node assembly of Mi-8AMT / Mi-171 helicopters between JSC NC Kazakhstan Engineering of the Ministry of Defense and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405 and JSC Russian Helicopters " State Corporation "Rostec".

This document was concluded in accordance with a previous agreement between the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev and the Russian Federation V.V. Putin

Helicopter assembly and adaptation to customer requirements will be carried out at the production sites of Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405 JSC. This company has the greatest competencies in ensuring the safe operation of helicopters of this type in Kazakhstan.

JSC “Aircraft Repair Plant 405” is certified by Kazakhstan and international bodies for the repair, modernization and maintenance of Mi-8/17/171 helicopters.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan is introducing for the first time the technology for assembling heavy helicopters and the assembly production is organized without attracting budget investments.

The launch of the assembly production of helicopters will ensure significant development of the domestic defense industry, civilian helicopter industry, training base, etc.

Today, the main customers of Mi-8AMT / Mi-171 helicopters in the republic are a number of government agencies and commercial airlines.

For reference: Mi-8AMT / Mi-171 helicopter was developed by the Moscow Helicopter Plant named after M. L. Milya and can be used for transportation of passengers, transportation of goods weighing up to 4000 kg in the cabin and on the external sling, search and rescue operations and firefighting.

Currently, more than 1000 helicopters of this type in various modifications are operated in the countries of Central and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the CIS.
