Kazakhstan and Belarus strengthen military-technical cooperation

The X meeting of the Subcommittee on military-technical cooperation of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus was held in Nur-Sultan.

The Kazakh side was chaired by the Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Talgat Zhanzhumenov, and the Belarusian side was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Pantus.

Also, representatives of state bodies and leading defense enterprises of the two states took part in the work of the Sub-Commission, such as JSC "Petropavlovsk Heavy Machine Building Plant", JSC "Plant im. CM. Kirov ", JSC" Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405 ", LLP" Kazakhstan Aviation Industry ", JSC" West Kazakhstan Machine-Building Company ", JSC" Semey Engineering ", JSC" Tynys ", LLP" Kazakhstan Paramount Engineering ", JSC" Machine-Building Plant named after ... CM. Kirov ”, JSC“ 558 Aviation Repair Plant ”, LLC“ BSVT - New Technologies ”, JSC“ KB Radar ”, JSC“ AGAT - Control Systems ”, JSC“ 140 Repair Plant ”and others.

During the talks, the parties discussed a number of issues of current and future bilateral cooperation in the military-technical sphere, including issues of mutual supplies, joint ventures, as well as the localization of certain types of industries in Kazakhstan and Belarus. The systematic and progressive development of cooperation in this direction, as well as the strengthening of cooperation ties between the defense-industrial enterprises of the Parties for the production of military and dual-use products in the interests of the law enforcement agencies of the two states, as well as its entry into the markets of third countries, was noted.

To date, the countries have reached an agreement on the practical implementation in our country of joint projects for the localization of repair production and maintenance of aircraft, radar systems, as well as systems to combat UAVs.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed and a decision was made to work out the issue of expanding the powers of the Sub-Commission and the creation of an intergovernmental Kazakh-Belarusian commission on military-technical cooperation.
