On January 29, 2020, an expanded meeting was held in Nur-Sultan on increasing the level of localization and production of railway products with the participation of the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliev.

The event was also attended by representatives of JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Engineering "and subsidiaries - JSC" PZTM ", JSC" Machine-building plant named after SM Kirov ”(Almaty), JSC“ Tynys ”, JSC“ Plant named after S.M. Kirov "(Petropavlovsk), Kazakhstan Aselsan Engineering LLP.

Within the framework of the meeting, PZTM JSC and Lokomotiv Arastyru Zauyty JSC signed an agreement on cooperation in the production of reservoirs for mainline and shunting locomotives in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Engineering intends to further expand cooperation in order to achieve the level of local content in electric locomotives and locomotives up to 50% (currently 25%). Prequalification of suppliers is a procedure that requires expensive international certification and production modernization. However, the achievement of such a level contributes not only to promotion in the domestic market, but also to export.

Recall that 2020 has been declared by the Government of the country as the year of support for domestic producers.
