Two-directional radio relay station R-409 is designed for establishment of radio relay communication lines in S-band, functioning in continuous mode on tactical control level.

In UHF-band:

• establishment of radio relay line in 390-645 MHz at 12 mbps in (1+0) mode at intervals of 30 km in conditions of  normal country and 20 m of antenna suspension height;
• E1 and Ethernet streams transmission;
• Operation in “point-to-point” or “point-to-multipoint” topology.

In S-band:

• establishment of radio relay line in 4.4 – 5.0 GHz at 78.4 mbps in (1+1) mode at intervals of 30 km in conditions of  normal country and 20 m of antenna suspension height;
• E1 and Ethernet streams transmission, E1 and Ethernet traffic grooming at 2.048 mbps step;
• Internal telephone communication with selective call between near radio relay stations.
