Military equipment of the domestic defense industry complex at the May 7 parade in Astana

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev:
"We have taken a decisive course toward the modernization of the Armed Forces and the strengthening of our army's capabilities. Enhancing our defense capacity is a top priority."

On May 7, a solemn military parade took place in Astana to mark Defender of the Fatherland Day and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. More than 4,000 service members took part in this significant national event. The audience was presented with both legendary wartime military equipment and modern developments from the country’s defense industry.

Special attention was given to domestically produced armored vehicles. The Semey Engineering plant (JSC Semey Engineering) showcased upgraded models, including a restored T-34 tank — a symbol of military valor and engineering excellence. The restoration work was carried out in accordance with the tank’s technical specifications, with a key role played by design engineer Dastan Kazisov. The power unit was adapted from a more modern tank, and some components critical for mobility and control were developed in-house by the company. The project also involved skilled mechanics, electricians, and other factory personnel, whose coordinated efforts ensured the successful revival of this iconic combat vehicle.

The enterprise also provided technical support for the maintenance of the Uragan multiple launch rocket system and the 2S3M Akatsiya self-propelled artillery unit, where the entire main production team distinguished itself through its excellent performance.

In addition, the parade featured modernized T-72 tanks. Thanks to the efforts of the plant's specialists, the combat vehicles were equipped with upgraded fire control, communication, and navigation systems, significantly enhancing their effectiveness and combat capability. These improvements enable the equipment to operate effectively in modern combat environments, increasing mobility, accuracy, and survivability on the battlefield.

Modern warfare is now unimaginable without unmanned systems.

Among the participants of the parade were UAVs produced by Kazakhstan Engineering R&D Center LLP:

Shaǵala-M UAV

This unmanned aerial system is designed for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target designation in fully automated mode along a pre-programmed flight route, with the option for the operator to adjust the course. Additionally, it can function as a communications relay to extend signal range and can serve as a strike drone capable of deploying VOG-25 munitions.

The participation of products from domestic defense enterprises in such a significant event for independent Kazakhstan is a testament to the trust placed by the Kazakh military in local manufacturers.

This, in turn, serves as a stimulus for the continued development of Kazakhstan's defense industry and the creation of advanced weapons systems to meet the needs of the armed forces and security agencies.

Employees of the defense-industrial complex work daily to fulfill the tasks of strengthening national defense capability. Their contribution represents an invisible but vitally important front, where cutting-edge technologies are born, the nation’s industrial potential is expanded, and the foundations for a safe and secure future for Kazakhstan are laid.
