Russian helicopters ready to launch production in Kazakhstan
Russian Helicopters Holding of Rostec State Corporation, National Company Kazakhstan Engineering JSC and Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405 JSC (Kazakhstan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document presupposes the study of the possibility of SKD assembly of Mi-8AMT / Mi-171 helicopters in Kazakhstan and the organization of a life cycle support system for helicopters, as well as the supply of 45 helicopter sets until 2025.

“Our partners from Kazakhstan approached us with an initiative to establish an assembly production of helicopters on their territory during 2017–2025. At this stage, we agreed to consider this possibility, including modifying the helicopter according to the customer's requirements, ”said Andrey Boginsky, General Director of the Russian Helicopters holding.

The project of opening an assembly plant in Kazakhstan assumes further development of the logistics support system for the life cycle of helicopters, training of engineering and technical personnel, as well as certification of the assembly production of ARZ No. 405 JSC in accordance with the legislation of Kazakhstan.

In addition, by the end of the year the parties plan to sign a contract for the supply of the first three helicopter kits, and at the beginning of next year to conclude an agreement on the phased delivery of the entire volume of the supplied kits.
